Solo pochi mesi fa, il rapper e imprenditore Jay-Z aveva firmato un contratto di amministrazione delle pubblicazioni della sua etichetta Roc Nation con la Warner Music ed oggi ha firmato un altro importante contratto per la sua impresa in continua crescita ed evoluzione.

Jay-Z ha sottoscritto, per la sua label e per tutti i suoi membri, un contratto di partnership a livello globale con il colosso Universal Music Group per cui tutti i nuovi album della Roc Nation verranno pubblicati per l'etichetta Universal.

Ecco quanto dichiarato da Jay: “We are looking forward to working with Lucian [Grainge, Chairman and CEO of UMG] and the incredible team he’s assembled at Universal. We would like to applaud Lucian for collaborating with us to strike a new age deal. This agreement presents a unique opportunity for Roc Nation’s artists-being able to continue to operate as an independent label with the strength, power and reach of the best major. I look forward to a long and prosperous collaboration with UMG. It feels good to be home.”

La scorsa settimana Jay-Z ha ampliato il suo business lanciando la Roc Nation Sports, compagnia di management per atleti professionisti.

Il primo a firmare per la compagnia è stato Robinson Cano, seconda base dei New York Yenkees.

“Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years,” ha dichiarato Jay riguardo alla nuova impresa.
